Citizen Charter Why:
The main purpose of the formulation of citizen charter is to improve government services and to improve the quality of services, four main objectives of civil service can be identified-
In the first place, by meeting people's expectations, keeping the quality of service consistent with their expectations and reinterpreting regular intervals with their views, so that it is possible to continue to improve the service and make the service public friendly.
Secondly, empowers people to provide information about their entitlement so that they can claim those rights to service providers and ensure the social accountability of service providers in various ways (eg, grievance redressal).
Thirdly, to develop their behavior through the development of a number of initiatives (such as establishing a support counter), to enhance service capability of the service providers and to develop a courtesy culture in the organization.
Fourth, achieving public confidence through the initiative of improvement of services, participation of the people, grievance settlement etc.
